The intertextile Shanghai apparel fabrics exhibition 2020 is held from September 23rd to 25th in Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. Even though we are still under the influence of Covid-19, more than 3000 exhibitors from over 20 countries & areas attend this show.

    Fabric Department Of International Trade Division is still in Zone 7.2 the Denim Fabrics Area. This time we bring different kinds of fabrics like: Fashion denim (the Jacquard/the print/the coating etc.) with beautiful washing; Eco-Friendly denim(the Repreve/the Organic cotton/the Recycle cotton etc.) and some regular denims. Due to the Covid-19, lots of the foreign customers can not reach the show themselves, which definitely affects our planning, however, we still try our best to see and gather lots of useful information and trends from the mills & domestic working partners for the upcoming development.

    The most important information is the Eco-Friendly fabric. We notice that the future trend for this kind of fabric will be the main key point, even from the cotton, yarns and the environmental protection certificates, such as GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD certificate which is really important for our fabrics business. Now the business is going to request the whole supply chains to get this certificate, not only manufactories, but also the export and import companies, ocean forwarders, shipping agent. Only we get the GRS certificate can we apply the Transaction Certificate which we can use it into the Eco-Friendly fabrics trading. Another one like Business Social Compliance Initiative certificate(BSCI in short) is also the same request. We may take actions for these certificates to make ourselves more preparation for the future fabrics business.

    Tough there are only 3 days exhibition, we still get a lot of useful trend information from this show, which is very helpful for development to the coming season under this special periods of Covid-19. Although the whole fabric business situation is difficult, we must try our best to overcome and find the new way of development.
